Audience responses to Jonas Akerlund's work

Audience responses to Jonas Akerlunds work are as varied as his colorful carer,

some people love his work, others are scared by his concepts and ideas,

one of his high profile fans is lady Gaga who has used him as director for at least two of her music videos. many find his work controversial, some even upsets, but many find it visually astonishing and creatively amazing, lady gaga herself, saying “the most amazing creative work that I’ve put together so far. It has a real, genuine, powerful message about fame-whoring and death and the demise of the celebrity, and what that does to young people.” of course it wouldn't have been amazing with jonas at the helm, but it is still a visionary masterpiece.

There was a strong reaction to one of jonas' previous videos, his controversial video for the prodigy's - smack my bitch up,
many people said the video encouraged violence towards women and was vulgar and disgusting, even though the main protagonist was a women. many praised the video for the way it subverted politically correct stereotypes showing that women were abusers too. the video was banned from public television but due to heavy popular demand MTV relented and allowed it to be aired, it became the number 1 most controversial music video in america.

"Once, you could argue there was an actual intellectual point to "Smack My Bitch Up." Now, any form of "provocation" is a game designed to generate controversy, and if you, the viewer, are cool with that, then we can all feel better about our trashier pleasures."

"Now, THIS is what I call a music video! I've seen quite a few over the top videos that couldn't be shown on MTV, but I guess Ã…kerlund and Rammstein go one step further - as of this writing, the XXX-rated opus is only available to see on a porn site!"

"Back in March, the pop star shot down rumors that the "Alejandro" video would be a continuation of her cinematic, pop-culture-crammed "Telephone" video, which was directed by Jonas Ã…kerlund. Instead, this sounds like a more artsy affair."
